Insurance broker for flat roof?

We've been with the same insurance company for 5 yrs and I want to check the rate hasn't crept up to unreasonable. Trouble is, it has a flat roof so the usual comparison websites don't work. It's also a flat and near a stream, so previous attempts to get prices resulted in me spending 20 mins giving details before being told the company I was talking to didn't cover us. Much frustration.

There must be a better way. Who can I talk to, preferably without paying up front? Don't think Which do insurance brokering...

I can't suggest a particular insurer but MoneySavingExpert has a home insurance guide and info on companies worth looking at if you have a non-standard property to insure from what I recall.

We have a flat roof, got a reasonable cover from DirectLine.
