Quickstep - Which underlay?

There are so many!

We are laying quickstep in the hallway and living room. It's being laid over wooden floor boards. There are so many different underlays that I'm struggling to decide which is best.

Any advice?

We layed ours over a mix of floorboards and concrete. We used the quickstep softboard underlay. It seems to have worked well. When I looked into it I wanted the one that hopefully reduced the echoey sound. Some places implied we needed a membrane underneath too but the fitter said that was only if there was a danger of damp so we didn't use one.
