Corian upstand and tiles

The fabricators are saying it looks naff to tile to the upstand. If we tile it should be to the worktop. Upstands are for painted walls.

But...is I wanted to live with the kitchen before deciding to tile or not. But I am thinking a Corian worktop/upstand join/edge is more hygienic than a tiled/worktop one having had the latter.

Any thoughts?!

I agree that upstand + tiles just looks wrong.

We have tiles to our dorian worktop (no upstand). Has never struck me that it's not hygienic?

Perhaps it was the way our tiles were finished; quite a heavy line of grout and sealant. I thought it was a bit of a dirt trap. The upstand although a separate part looks seamless with the tiny amount of glue used. But I probably will want to tile...
