Seriously! Helpppppp! Two areas very close together - could be about chest height on me and then mid shin. Corner wall.

I can see some round holes. I think somebody drilled into the wall to fix e.g. a washing line, fencepost, lamp, hanging basket. Because they drilled so close to the edge, the brick has cracked and spalled off. This might have happened through weight or movement of the attached thing, or rain might have got into the cracks and frozen.

A skilled bricklayer could replace the damaged brick. Otherwise you could clean it up and patch with mortar, which will show.

Yup, definitely drill holes there. You may not have noticed until the edge crumbled off.

Oh really? Not some terrible creature building a nest in my wall?
Thank you!

I was very disappointed it was not mortar bees

SouthWestmom · 25/06/2015 21:10

It may not be too late. The holes are filled with what looks like a nest. Really weird that the bricks have fallen apart.

spider hiding. they do that.

SouthWestmom · 25/06/2015 22:22

Gross. At least it's not a brick eating rat as I first feared.
