Cost of garage conversion?

We have a stand alone brick garage in our garden. It has a window, a side door and garage door. Is in great condition and has a new tiled pitch roof plus electrics.

I want to halve it and use the back half as a shed, it has the side door and small window. The other side has the main big door and a window and I want this as a garden office.

Basically looking at? New UPVC french doors, erection of a wall, insulating plasterboard and skim plus skirting. A ceiling put in and insulation in roof. Maybe extra sockets and some kind of floor on top of the concrete one that is there.

Anyone done this? Any ball park figures? me and DH are rubbish at DIY and so will need the lot done.

We are converting our garage as well as having a rear extension. We haven't had any builders' quotes yet but our architect said we would be looking at around £5k for the conversion.

I'd say closer to 10k but that would be including VAT.The floor needs insulating and then a screed plus I assume heating of some kind.Do you need a path to it to make it more usable in the winter?

Beatiebo, ime architects tend to give low estimates so would be cautious.If the room is habitable then regulations tend to define insulation etc and I can't see how a full garage conversion could be 5k, especially if vat applies

10k?????wow. Floor is concrete so probably just needs some sort of insulation and laminate. Won't need a path. Going to use oil filled radiator to heat. I think the doors will be the biggest expense,

If it comes in at 10k I don't think I'll bother. Thanks for replies.
