What front door locks do I want?

We're having a new front door fitted next Friday and I need to buy the locks for it but I'm not sure what's what.

Do I want a mortice sash lock and if so, 3 or 5 lever? Or a deadlock? Do I need a night latch at the top only if I have a deadlock or is it best to have one with a sash lock?

Gosh! Can't the door fitter recommend what you should have? We have, at home and for our London flat, both a deadlock AND a mortice lock. A night latch is a good idea if you feel you need one. Or get the spy glass fitted so you can see who is the other side if the door is solid.

If you go for a cylinder type lock, make sure they are anti-bump, far more secure than the old type and can't be forced.
