Does anyone have any experience of installing skylights, how much did it cost you, was it a huge job?
We have a single storey extension onthe back of our house with a slight pitch on the roof (was here before me moved in). The back of tge house is north facing and can be quite dark so we want to get som more light in so thinking of putting a skylight or possibly 2 in. has anyone done this? Did it make a big difference?

Yep, thinking the same. Marking my place!

Made a huge difference and wasn't too taxing for the builder. We had a wraparound Velux which is great as it gives a bit of a window in the wall too - see www.velux.co.uk/~/media/marketing/master/products/windows/combinations/pictures/940x470/vertical_vfe_500340-01-velux_showroom_940x470.ashx?h=230&la=en-GB&mw=460&w=460

best to get a recommended local roofer, I think.

I am always anxious that holes in roofs will leak.
