This is a bit of a strange question which I have been mulling over for a while....
We bought a new build house from a small developer last July. It came with an NHBC warranty for 10 years. On speaking with our neighbour in the same development I realised that we hadn't been given the gas safe certificate or the electrical safety certificate with all the purchasing paperwork, only the warranty. At this point the builder wasn't very responsive (no surprise there) so I contacted the gas and electricity safety people myself and found that the house had not been registered with ELECSA (even though the next door house had). I went back to the builder and a certificate was issued in January.
So my questions is - how was the NHBC warranty issued when there was no electrical safety certificate for the house? And should I contact the NHBC about this as it seems a bit dodgy to me!
