Has anyone managed to negotiate a better price with Benchmarx?

We've just had a quote and wondered if the prices are fixed? Only having the cabinets from them, appliances, work surfaces etc are being bought separately.

They offered to reduce the fitting costs I think by 10% of total price - but we went with Howdens in the end as they were cheaper and there didnt seem to be any difference in quality.

That's disappointing, they aren't fitting mine!

Did you have any luck with negotiating with benchmarx as we got a quotes or cabinets which seemed much higher than what I had initially anticipated. I hope it all worked out ok with your kitchen! Cheers

We have had loads of quotes recently for kitchens. Benchmarx didn't come in very competitive compared to other companies. Howdens really peed me orf!! Basically phoned up a few days after emailing my quote. Asking how it compared to others. After telling me that he had given me his best price...he then proceeded to tell me he would bet ANY price we had. JUST GIVE ME YR LOWEST PRICE!! Not difficult. Also, Wickes have me 50% off, then another 10% off then another 5%. It's all a bit meaningless isn't ???

I managed to get them down a fair bit but we have a trade account. Howdens seem less likely to budge on price. I am going for the Burford/Oxford style but after much deliberating think diy kitchens has won as it is much cheaper for what looks like the same quality to me. My friend has just had one put in my new kitchen and it looks great. I sent the benchmarx quote to their email and 3 hours later I had a new quote. Much more choice too.

I had dealings with them a few years and I decided they were the same as Wickes but half the price. You see they are both owned byTravis Perkins
