Just that really. We went to the showroom a couple of weeks ago and the quality looks lovely but they are very £££. Has anyone got one? Is it worth it?

I’m sorry to hear the negative remarks, we have just finished installation of a Tom howley kitchen, (Tunbridge wells branch) and we couldn’t be happier. The service has been 1st rate and the kitchen is amazing. The installer told us that he has worked for smallbone and martin Moore who both quoted a lot more, and he believes the quality is every bit as good. They are not cheap but I guess you get what you pay for. Ours was 60k including a small amount of building work. We sourced the mercury range and hood ourselves. Every aspect of the process was brilliant, and they even sent us a full set of replacement handles (which must have cost a lot) and a shelf that we hadn’t specified for free.
We also looked at highams, and some bespoke carpentry firms, but price for service we are glad we went with Tom Howley. If your in the Sussex Kent region I’d definitely advise to go with these guys, our kitchen is leagues better than all of our friends kitchens! It’s nice to be able to leave a good review when people deserve it

I've heard this a lot regarding tom howley, poor after care service.
Always try local first as there's lots of independent cabinet Makers out there who can supply fantastic service and quality products. Www.dixonandcowton.co.uk

Is this the advertise your kitchen shop thread ?

When the units arrived the mdf sides were split because the factory don’t pre drill. This happens all the time so I’m told and the attitude is when the tops are on you can’t see them

This is very timely for me as have just received a brochure and were seriously considering a Tom H kitchen if budget allowed.
This has completely put me off one!!

I have been trying to get a visit from them for weeks - spoke to 2 people on the phone now asking if i would like a visit and what my requirements were, still nothing in 2 months.
Spoke to a lady on saturday for over 20 minutes, she seemed more bothered about my location and if i would have enough budget!!
Then i get an email from her on wednesday saying the line was really bad, did i want a visit?

what a joke! i keep getting their automated emails asking if i want a visit too to rub salt in the wound, one of which i replied to asking for a designer to call.

thanks for all the messages in this thread... guess im going local too!

We're going with Devol - their Shaker range. I've been blown away by the service - and the cost! - so far, although we are only at a very early stage as it's for the extension that's not being built until next year. Utterly beautiful.... It was a 6 hour drive to the showroom but even my husband decided it was worth the trip! Cost of units (base only) plus island worktop was around £14k which I thought was really great for the quality.

I used Higham in the end and 2.5 years on, I still think the kitchen is great. The service was excellent.

I dont have children but having looked up reviews for Tom Howley I felt I had to sign up and endorse all of the critical reviews. Everything which has been said about poor service, poor quality and arrogance its exactly what I have experienced leaving me with a very nasty feeling of being totally ripped off. The list of problems I have written on a list in front of me is just too long to replicate here - I will be putting them all onto Trustpilot. I just wanted to say to everyone reading this GO ELSEWHERE!! As a suggestion Harvey Jones in Islington is far superior and far cheaper
