Has anyone actually used the Ikea kitchen planner successfully?

I've tried a few times now and every time I lose it because it won't let me save it.

Do you need to do your own plan before you go to the store or can you just do it with one of thier kitchen planners?

We started in store, then rejigged it over a couple of visits. It was easy to save. If you are having difficulty then maybe do it all in store, where you can get assistance as you go along. I can't remember how we saved it unfortunately as it was a couple of years ago.

Please not though that the programme, while good, does have faults. For example they won't tell you that you require am extra long worktop that they don't sell, and instead send several short worktops for someone to attempt a botch job of connecting them. (We sent them back and ordered long worktops from a specialist)
