I've been quoted £4,000 to strip old render then £2,300 to paint it, £1500 for scaffolding. It sounds like a lot!

We're still waiting for other quotes (four weeks and counting for one) but I wanted to know if that sounds right.

They've also quoted £1500 to demolish old garage and remove asbestos, £1435 to replace three windows and £1300 to replace fascias.
All plus vat.

How does it sound?

If they are stripping the render what are they painting? Confused

We had 1st floor rendered, end of terrace 2 up in SW London and it cost us £3700 about 2 years ago.

Thanks for your reply.
My mistake £4k is strip old render and put new on.

Was yours £3.7k in total? with render, scaffold and paint we're looking at £8.1k before vat. Ouch!

It's an extended 1930s semi.
