How often is too often?

I've recently moved 500 miles to Scotland. We've sold our house and are currently renting until we are sure of where we want to buy our new house.

We are having bi-monthly inspections Shock This seems excessive to me, especially given that we also had to have a PAT test which meant we had an inspection one month, then PAT testing the next, then another inspection the following month!

This is ridiculous right?

It's all in my contract though. your thoughts would be appreciated.

yes, it is ridiculous. (wow - I'm a landlord, surprise...)

the PAT testing (which is fairly useless...) should have been done at tenancy start and that's it. Otherwise once every six months is normal.

BUT as you are in Scotland I'm not sure on unenforceable contract terms there. Hopefully someone will be along who is.

It's weird. I let my flat for a bit when I first moved in with dh and inspected six monthly. If I remember rightly as students (9mo tenancies) we had two inspections.

Try posting this in Scotsnet. The law is different compared with England.
