What's the difference between 'sale agreed' and 'sstc'?

Just wondering really. Local development and some are on site as Sold Subject to Contract and others as Sale Agreed. What's the difference?

nothing in England and Wales. Both mean 'offer accepted and process going through'. Once contracts are exchanged the property should disappear off websites.

Ah I see. Thanks for that! I had wondered if the sale agreed was more an in theory acceptance of an offer but apparently not!
