All set to move on Friday, seller causing problems

So after an awful 18 months I finally get a date last week to complete but then I found out yesterday afternoon my seller hasn't signed something so it can't happen.

I fear he's done this on purpose. I know his soon to be ex-wife, she's an acquaintance and I've been in touch with her throughout. They are divorcing and he now lives in London. She has done her part. She's so embrassed by his behaviour.

He got his solicitor to send a letter on Friday to mine (not a phone call or email but a pissin letter) which my solicitor didn't get until yesterday.

So all weekend i've been packing and sorting stuff out, ordered a washer to be delivered at the weekend, arranged removals, booked a Sky engineer -when he had no intention of Friday being completion day.

I was in tears all evening. I've now got to cancel everything with no idea of when completion will be.

I'm surrounded by boxes and chaos. After this I am NEVER moving again.

We had to sell so as not to lose our buyer back in October. Our house back then fell through as our vendors pulled out as they changed their mind about moving (after we'd paid for surveys etc) and then we put an offer in the following week on this property- partly because they'd lost a buyer and were (apparently) already quite far along the process of buying their new property.

It's been a long slog! Seven months living with inlaws/friends/relatives, toddler plus I've had a baby in this time.

Sorry for hijacking your thread with my moaning BG! Fingers crossed your stubborn wanker backs down and signs today!

Various

It is an option. But I'm moving out of a 5 bed house with a lot of stuff. I'm a single parent with 2 teenagers, work full time. I'd have to rent somewhere, minimum 6 month contract.

I don't want to move and then move again. Can't stay with family, that's not an option. I'm skint too. Been struggling to pay my massive mortgage since my ex stopped paying 9 months ago.

I need to move into this house and soon. Renting is my worst nightmare.

But if this goes on much longer I'm going to have to look into it.

If I pull out now, the bastard will have got what he wanted.

Never ceases to amaze me how horrible people are, life is hard enough without making a very stressful situation even more stressful.

Thankfully only 3 of us in the chain and my buyer is very understanding - I used to work with her mum!

I'm hoping he finds some morals today and his solicitor talks some sense to him.

If it is court ordered that he has to sell the house, could your solicitor say that they're going to send evidence to the judge that ordered it that he is unnecessarily delaying the sale?

BG2015 · 11/05/2015 17:26

Yes his ex wife is going to instruct her solicitor to enforce the court orde tomorrow, she was holding off because she was hoping he'd have a change of heart.

How long will this take now? It's ridiculous

We finally exchanged today!

There is hope!

Good luck, I really hope you get good news soon.

BG2015 · 11/05/2015 21:08

Oh that's such good news. So happy for you.

So when do you move?

22nd, thank goodness! Our mortgage offer runs out at the end of the month, so really close to the wire.

I hope the ex's sol sends that letter ASAP. I hope when you move in you can shake your fist at him and let him know your fury.
