Managing an extension

Has anyone here managed an extension/renovation for the first time recently?

Or does anyone do this for a living?!

I find myself faced with having to manage our extension/renovation due to problems with our builders and as we have lost money we have no alternative but to take over and bring trades in ourselves.
I would be so grateful if anyone has done this and wouldn't mind offering up their experience and advice - especially when it comes to scheduling.

It's an extension with outside courtyard. Our lovely builders have left us with a shell - so we need to sort out pretty much everything.

My job is usually as a project co-ordinator but I realise this is a whole new world.

Are there any resources you found helpful online to understand exactly who carries out which bits of the jobs I need to get done?

Thanks for any help and advice.
