Refurb-which order for works?!

I finally took the plunge and have had wall between kitchen and dining knocked down Grin in order to save money I have just recycled existing kitchen - basically took cupboards off wall that came down and put them on opposite wall. It's not pretty but I can cope while I get used to the new space.

Question is - what order do I do thinks next? Ceiling, plastering, new electric sockets, etc all need doing but not sure where best to start. Ultimately I will replace kitchen but will do all the prep works myself first.

So, where do I start?!

I would say:

  1. Pull down the ceiling plaster (and walls plaster if going back to brick)
  2. Do electrics
  3. Board ceiling (and walls if doing) and plaster everywhere

Have you thought about plumbing - pipework should happen before the boarding and skimming/plastering.

Plumbing and gas pipe move already complete Smile
