leave built in wardrobe or remove

DD has built in mirrored wardrobes that look as though they were done on the cheap as the doors never slide across properly.

DH wants to remove the wardrobe and buy an Ikea wardrobe and free up more space in DDs room however I think the mirrors reflect a lot of light and her room is a double so don't really need more space (although more space is obviously always nice Smile)

Would it be better to get the doors fixed so we could use the wardrobe properly or pull it out??

May or may not be poss to get better sliding doors as the mechanism could be made to fit or off the shelf. Can't really comment price wise as you'll need to measure & research.

However worth considering if the layout works now & into future for DD? Ikea great for being reconfigured according to needs down the line.
Also are the wardrobes otherwise fit for purpose? The ones that came with our house were not properly closable so clothes got dusty very fast along shoulders.

You could both get what you want as Ikea do wardrobes with sliding mirrored doors.
