help! my toilet cistern isn't refilling

I filled it with water and it flushes but no water is flowing back in to fill it.
It doesn't have a ballcock thingy, its a push button one.
Any ideas?

There may be a float stuck in the bottom which should float to the top when water is going in,it may have got itself jammed,put on rubber gloves and have a feel for it,that may help if not I can only think of a plumber or a friendly next door neighbour ??

Do you have a little (2cm) long thing at the top of the plastic bits? If you do, try moving it to the 3o'clock position. It should then start refilling. You will need to move it back to its original position to stop filling though.

For the moment, use a bucket to fill the cistern, and you can still use it to flush the WC. You may as well leave the lid off until fixed.

Thanks Piglet, we had a plumber out today. The ballcock is broke. Or something, I wasn't really listening .
