Carpeting costs

Can anyone give a rough idea how much it would be to have approx 56 sq metres of carpet laid? It would be:

  • 3 rooms inc hall, stairs & landing
  • 8mm underlay *Polypropylene carpet
  • door strips
  • fitting
  • removal of old carpet

Any recommendations? Is that underlay thick enough (largely high traffic areas)

Use a carpet calculater to total up the cost of the carpet but bear in mind that carpet comes in 4m or 5m width so that is what your paying for.

Then as a rough guide add £40 per room for fitting.

I usually over estimate grips at 80 pence each.

Door frames are usually between £3 -£5 depending on where you buy.

Or most local company's measure and quote for free without pressure to buy.

Incidentally I'm having a bedroom stairs landing and lounge done next week and it's cost me £813.

Thanks for that Honey local company came in with quote of 1.5k.

We did the whole house with similar carpet & underlay. 1000 sq feet approx & it costed £4000. That's 2 receptions, 4 bedrooms. Stairs & landing for 3 storey house.
