Hi,
I'm currently trying to buy all the lighting for my renovation project in Devon, and wondering if anybody/the resident interior designers could give me some advice from experience on their own bathroom lights.
the family bathroom (we'll have our own ensuite) is relatively long and narrow, approx. 4m x 2m. with a south facing window at the end.
I've bought some IP rated cloud-like pendants for general lighting and to look pretty and there will be some LED spotlights too (directional ones to reflect on the walls rather than the floor).
I originally had planned for some wall lights either side of the 2 basins vanity (and the vintage mirror(s) above) but I think they might compete with the pendants and bring visual clutter to the whole scheme (+ I often find the bathroom ones to be relatively boring) so I would love to get away with not putting any up (not to mention that it would save some money too!) - as per the two images attached.
However I do hear that you should have lighting around the mirrors for make-up application etc...
Would replacing them with a couple more directional LEDs in the ceiling work well enough for that kind of use, or would you discourage me from doing away with wall lights?
It would be great to know what you've got in your own houses, and what you've found to work, or not!!!
