I accepted an offer on my house from a ftb on the 10th March, he met with his mortgage broker on the 13th, im still waiting for the survey to be done! The EA keeps saying there's a delay in surveys at the moment and lots of banks held off because of the new tax year. Has Anyone else experienced this? (I am stillhaving biewings)

I booked a survey on the Friday and it was completed by the following Thirsday as I said it needed to be done quickly. There are lots of surveyors about.

It may not be the survey that is holding things up.
There are other processes, affordability checks etc, and survey before the lender offers the mortgage.

Ok, thanks, so not too unusual. Estate agent rang yesterday and said they are waiting on one more document from buyer so hopefully next week.

We accepted an offer on March 2nd and the survey has been booked but not carried out yet.... We haven't found anywhere ourselves yet so aren't that bothered but I do think 6 weeks is a long time!!

When I sold my house it took 9 weeks for the survey to be done, I was going spare as this was after loads of other delays and problems with the buyer having to change MC. It worked in our favour though because the delay meant we found the perfect house to rent which wouldn't have been free had the survey been prompt. Not that they knew that though...
