Changing a gate lock cylinder - can I do it myself?

I have a CAYS gate lock on my gate (the kind with a long bar across). The key has broken off inside the lock also I want to change the cylinder, but I don't know if it works like a normal Yale-style lock. Can I change this myself in the same way, does anyone know?

'mmm

I found the installation instructions on a gate-makers website, but they do not show how the cylinder is assembled, or how it could be changed. It looks like the lock arrives all in one piece.

If you can track down the lock maker they may supply replacement cylinders. The lock seems to cost about £37 so it would probably not be worth getting a locksmith in.

If you take it off the gate by removing the four large screws on the backplate, you might be able to see how it goes together. The hole is about an inch which is smaller than an ordinary Yale-type cylinder.

Thanks very much - I thought the hole looked a bit smaller. It looks like I may as well just buy a whole new lock I think.
