Utility room, cheap but made to measure worktop

I just need a cheap bit of laminate to sit on brackets above my washer and dryer to provide a useful work area /dumping ground. Anyone know where I can get one, it needs to be deeper than standard, and I'm struggling to find something basic. B&q do something but part of a bigger kitchen design service. I've not found an online place that does non-standard depth. Thanks.

Worktops are sold in standard lengt and width, usually either 3.6m or4.1m length and width 600mm or 900mm. You'll just have to get it cut to size, B&Q do offer this service

I got a nice piece of Bushboard from a local kitchen shop - it was an offcut and was on ebay.

It's 66cm deep and has an edge both sides (breakfast board) and is about 6ft long.

I don't need it after all but it was £60. Try looking on ebay as people often have offcuts. Or ask in a place like Howdens.

Do you have a local timber merchant? We have a local timber shop that sells worktops and they have a made to measure service (think its £10 to have anything cut to your specific dimensions). But I second the advice above, ebay is good for offcuts and if you have any kitchen companies locally, might be worth giving them a ring as they will have offcuts too.

Definitely have a look in your local paper or small ads, I sold a 6ft off cut of worktop for £10 about 6 mths ago, left over from my new kitchen. It was brand new and still had its protective plastic film on it.

I bought only a worktop from B&Q. I chose it, they cut it (into several pieces) for me according to my measurements and then they packed it into my car!
