Light fitting for low ceiling in living room?

We live in a ten year old house and the ceilings aren't very high. I'd like a stylish yet reasonably priced light fitting for the living room, but a lot I've seen will hang too low - dh is 6 feet 2.

Dh doesn't want anything like a chandelier. The colouring is quite neutral; light brown, beige/cream, duck egg blue, turquoise/green and light sage green.

It doesn't need to provide a lot of light, as we have a standing lamp too. We have a dimmer switch fitted.

Any ideas?

We have a similar issue, and still have bare bulbs for now! Flush ceiling lights to me look too bathroomy. Would something like this hang too low? What drop are you working with?

We have a lovely flush fitting from Ikea - loads of light and so neutral I don't really notice them (we have three in the hallways and landing).

I too think flush ones look too bathroomy. I love hanging ones and chandeliers, but they all hang too low.

We probably have about 30 cm to play with.

I can't recommend Castlegate lights enough for loads of choice & fab service we've bought loads from them when renovating our house.
