Bjursta table - only for kitchens?

I know this is a popular table and I can see you get lots of table for your money. However, (unlike almost every home on the television) we don't have a kitchen diner, we have our dining table in a carpeted room. Would the Bjursta (in oak) look a bit our of place? We are a long way from an Ikea and the photos online are a bit rubbish.

I have a similar style of table, in the dining area of our carpeted living room and I think it looks fine. You could have a nice cloth runner on it when not in use which matches other aspects of the room.

I think it will look great if you choose oak. We had the cabinet thingy in oak in a carpeted dining room and it looked nice.

I think it's the white glossy one that looks like it really only belongs in a kitchen or a very modern dining room.

OK, interesting. Wish Ikea wasn't so much of a trip or that they did better online photos.

Have you tried looking at Google images or Pintrest for more pics?
