Knocking down an internal wall

Hi

We are on Beds/Herts border and have been quoted £3.5k plus vat to knock down an unsupportive 2.3m wall and leave to plastered finish. Does this seem a lot?

Thanks

Seems a lot for half a days work .

Get some more quotes.

Too much if no support involved

Far too much.

We've had quotes to do the same + block up an archway + knock through 2 new doorways + block up 1 doorway + plastering. Comes in at less than £2k. North East.

I thought so! Involves moving a double socket & capping off water to radiator. Waiting for other quote to come through....been waiting over a month!!!!!

I wouldn't even pay a grand for that!

750 cash, not a penny more

bilbodog · 02/04/2015 13:48

sounds too much if it doesn't require any RSJs. Get more quotes.

Definitely going to get more quotes. Another quote has come in but as we are doing other work in the house he has given us a figure for all of it when we asked for it itemised. Partner has spoke to that builder and he has said roughly £5k for knocking down the wall. WTH? Have asked for itemised. So frustrating.
