I am buying a stone cottage built into a hillside, so there is an extra lower ground floor room at the back of the house. Would love to turn it into a kitchen to open up the ground floor above for the views. Surveyor has said it is feasible but would need tanking - any idea of costs or has anyone done this? The room opens on to the garden and is currently used as a playroom.
Also surveyor is suggesting we get an electrical survey to access the state of the electrics - there has been some rewiring done fairly recently and the seller has all the certificates for this. Just wondering what the worst case scenario would be if we had to rewire completely - its a 3 bed end terrace, including the recent loft conversion.
