Gloss kitchen at back of house with s/f garden?

Will it be too glary from the sunshine if we have a white gloss kitchen? We get a ton of sun streaming in during summer and are thinking of fitting a Venetian bound on the window to reflect the beams out. Also, we have young children with sticky fingers. To white gloss or not to white gloss? That is the question!!!!!

Would the sun that gets in stain the cabinets over time if they're gloss?

if it is white laminate (which is very durable) I don't believe it would mark.

If it is vinyl wrap it will probably peel off before the colour goes.

We have a white gloss in a south facing kitchen. The black granite is the only thing that really reflects the light but only really for an hour when the sun is streaming through the window in the morning at just the right angle.

It works fine.

I have cream gloss and love it

I'm forever cleaning the windows and mirrors in my south facing rooms as when the sun shines on them, it shows every last mark.

I wouldn't want to add to that toil with glossy cupboards. Granite, yes. Glossy cupboards, no.

In any case, aren't gloss kitchens a bit over? Are you having breakfast bar too? Grin

AlphaBravo, don't be mean Hmm If that's the style OP likes she should go with it. I like glossy units.

Thanks everyone. If we ever move a south facing garden would not be top of my list!

PMT Alpha ;) And yes, breakfast bar is desirable in chez moi :)
