Electrics and light switches

Does anyone have any knowledge about earthing the electrics behind light switches?

I moved in back in Dec, and have had the electrics in the house safety tested. The electrician is saying that the metal light switches in the upstairs haven't been earthed and are a potential safety risk.

The options he has given are to replace the switches with plastic ones, or to rewire them all. There was talk of installing a breaker, but apparently the neutral is earthed somewhere so that's a no-go.

So my questions are, are these the only options? And does anyone know of any metal-looking plastic light switches?

Thanks!

Yes, no.

btw this method or wiring lighting circuits was common on the 1960's so it suggests to me that it's time you were thinking of a rewire; of the lighting circuits at the very least.

As well as plastic switches, you must not have metal light fittings (chandeliers, spotlights, etc) which would also be unearthed.
