warm toned white for north facing room

Hi All,

I am painting my new extension (kitchen/dinner) which is north facing & still very dark despite spending $$ on glazing...sigh...

I'm think white is the best colour to use. Can anyone recommend a warm toned white for north facing room?

Thanks

I quite like the 'antique white' from the B&Q range.

Haven't tried any whites that work - can definitely rule out Crown Milk white and antique cream!

If you do prefer a little colour, a soft pale yellow works well in a dark North facing room. I have Laura Ashley Chamomile in my living room. Cowslip is lovely, too.

thanks for quick relies- on second thoughts I would consider some other non white, more neutral colours. Keep the ideas coming. Thanks:)

Little Greene Slaked Lime Mid is nice. Changes between beige/greige so avoids the 'cream' effect which I really don't like. Slaked Lime itself is closer to white but would probably be lovely too.

I've been happy with Wimborne White by F&B in a similar situation.

grumbelina do you have a link to that? Sounds perfect for my bathroom.

Oops, I've found it, don't worry!

We had a new north-east facing kitchen diner with lots of glazing built last year. We went with Dulux Timeless which is a very nice creamy white.

Little Greene Whitening. It's a warm creamy white.

Our friends have a kitchen diner extension which is north facing and they painted the largest wall in a pale aqua colour (similar to the units) and it looks lovely and not at all cold, just fresh. It was an earth borne paint so probably easy to find the one I mean :)

ours is also north facing but painted bright white so we've added colour with glass splashbacks, light shade, bar stools and now kitchen chairs. All in red. Another idea :)

Another vote for winbourne White (although we used the cheaper jonstones copy!)

Dulux Ivory lace. Goes everywhere.
