Best way to reduce light with plantation shutters already installed?

As it says in the subject really! I have plantation shutters in my bedroom but now it's starting to get too light in the mornings for my liking. I have been draping some blackout material which works but looks awful.

Is there a way I can reduce the light more stylishly? Install blinds behind the shutters (even though there isn't much space)? If it makes a difference, the main window is a bay so actually 5 shutters in total. Anyone had similar experience and made a difference? Thanks.

Curtains?

Er, why did I think shutters would be enough to block out the light? Evidently not! Sorry not helpful but looking forwards to the suggestions as we are planning to get shutters.

I should have added in my opening post that curtains wont really fit in with the décor so am hoping to avoid, but I will go for them if I can't find another answer! So I was hoping to do something that didn't hide the shutters but that would fit behind them? Anything like that exist?

Blackout roller blind? Won't look pretty though.

Might be dark enough for some and I suppose some companies might have shutters that differ in how much light they let in. But I can read my book in the morning without having to turn lights on!
I did wonder about just a roller blackout blind, has anyone else done this, if so which company or fitting fixtures where used? I am concerned that the fittings on the other roller blinds in the house would be too big to attach between the shutters and window, IYGWIM.

i couldnt read with our plantation shutters fully closed - but I was planning to put blackout perfect fit blinds behind before we got them installed if they did let in too much light

We put curtains in front of the turret bay in the nursery, but I quite like light in the mornings. I couldn't read in the light though. Could you get blinds like velux blinds? They are really slimline.
