Moving from slough to windsor

Hi there, I'd really appreciate any recommendations for removal companies. We are moving from Slough to Windsor (approx. 5-6 miles away) and tbh, am a little nervous and overwhelmed with the prospect. It's officially our first move with 2 kids (Dd being 3y and Ds 9m) and I've not a clue where to start. The last time I moved, I had just got married and moving from uni to new home so we really had not much!

Am considering a removal company with full packing service as at least the furniture will be disassembled and reassembled for us!

Anyone moved recently in this area or at least in the SE and can recommend a (reasonably priced) company please? any ideas how much this might cost? We have a 3 bedroom hse to move out of.

Thank you in advance! :-)

Marking place while I find who we used, they were excellent

We moved (London suburbs SE) last year whilst I was pregnant. They did a half pack service and from start to finish they were excellent.i couldn't recommend them strongly enough and will definitely use them again

Sorry - final post. We paid ~£1200 for moving from a large 2 bed with loft and garage to a 3 bed. They did all furniture dismantling/putting back up, and supplied all packing materials etc. We Didn't pay for unpacking but they can quote you for this. I had a few quotes from different companies and they were mostly like for like but the service with sandersteads was spectacular

Thank you! I'll get a quote from them. I think half packing service would be good - the main thing is the furniture, really need the reassembly on the other end.

Anyone else with recommendations?

Hi, I've moved a few times using these people: www.dracottfennemore.com/
They were reasonably priced, turned up when they said and we're very nice and incredibly hard working. They are getting more expensive as they get bigger but their packing was good.

Good luck!

dewdrop9 · 16/03/2015 10:16

Thanks Suzyrut! I'll contact them too, have got a removal company guy (two men & a truck) coming tomorrow to inspect home and give a quote.

Trying to get as many quotes as possible for comparison - so if anyone else has suggestions, I'll be grateful!

(Already stressing out on moving and it inspired me to declutter the house -Marie Kondo style! :-)

Well worth the money for a packing service when you have young kids. It will make the move so much easier. Ours just built beds for us and we did the rest. Ps Windsor is fab :)
