Oven and hob(bes)

Hello.
DP and I in middle of buying first house and it needs new kitchen. We're planning it excitedly, however want to know if oven and hob are 'meant' to be same brand? On reflection, every rented home either if us has lived in, which is a fair few, has matched.
We're having a Neff slidey door oven (hurrah!) as kitchen is so narrow, but quick look at reviews shows that pan balance isn't great on neff hobs. We're also keen on not spending loads on stuff where we don't need to, so a cheaper brand for hob would be ideal as we're spending a lot on oven.

What hobs have you folk got? We definitely want gas, the usual 4 pan type as short on space.

Neff induction hob. I'd seriously consider it if I were you. Faster and cleaner than gas, and in a small kitchen less obtrusive. We got the slidey door oven a couple of weeks ago, and I am completely in love.

Ooh thank you! That was a thought because of titchy space. Do we need new pans for induction though?

Second the induction hob although mine is Bosch. You can check whether your pans are compatible with a magnet, if it sticks to the base they'll be ok!

Induction hobs are great for a small kitchen as double up as extra worktop space when not in use.

We have an induction hob, it's brilliant. It's a different brand from the ovens though. It never occurred to me to try to match them - we bought the appliances that best met our needs.
