Stone for the terrace, sadly not York.

I'd decided on reclaimed York paving until i went to see it & saw the price. Gosh.

Anyway I need an alternative. We have a very old sandstone farmhouse so need something sympathetic to a period property.

I've been to the builders merchants to look at Indian sandstone & wasn't mad on it, but TBF they don't offer a big range.

Any ideas would be welcome.

No ideas but my neighbours York stone driveway was stolen while she was sitting in her living room. The bastards drove a truck up the drive and started digging it up - they were disturbed by another neighbours dog! It probably ended up as reclaimed stone somewhere.

That's awful Rock.
I promise the one I can't afford I was looking at wasn't from your neighbour, unless they had a 500m2 drive and lived in a church Grin

Oops, sorry for the complete lack of apostrophes in that previous post. I guess my experience is more an argument against York paving - particularly in a rural property!
