Selling a house in another town - solicitor local to us or the property?

We are selling my mother's former house, and it's in a place two hours drive from our home. What's best to do in terms of instructing a solicitor - use one near the house, or near to us?

My instinct is that signing and so on will be much easier if we use our trusted local solicitors here, but will this cause problems that I haven't foreseen? Any advice and experience you have much appreciated.

If you know a good conveyancing solicitor just use them, wherever they are. Most communication is by email or phone and you can send signed documents by Special Delivery.

I've never met the solicitor who's done conveyancing for me now on three occasions. They're not based nearby but are excellent. I communicate via phone and email.

I don't even know where ours was based. All phone and email

Thanks, that's reassured me no end.
