For Sale sign with no stake!

Just received our For Sale sign from housenetwork after our home visit. It is just the board with no stick, so does anyone have any idea what I can use as a stick to hold the board up, or how to display the sign?? Confused

It is just one double-sided piece of board, whereas the For Sale sign of another flat in the building which is being sold is 2 separate boards with the stick going up in between the two.

Our front garden is paved so a stick would need to be tied to something anyway.

I literally can't think how this would work. Baby brain!

put it in the window?

BreeVDKamp · 06/03/2015 15:27

Thanks for the suggestion! You can't see the window from the street though. Maybe we don't need a For Sale sign anyway. I don't know!

ask them what people usually do and why they didn't send a stick with it?

BreeVDKamp · 06/03/2015 16:58

Thanks! They never send the stick, people normally put it in the window or hammer it onto something, according to their website. We have a brick wall and brick gatepost outside so can't really hammer it into that, and then it won't have the elevation.

Aren't they mainly advertising for the estate agents anyway? I don't reckon many people view a house after initially seeing a for sale sign, they find properties online. Don't they??

Anyway. Perhaps we don't even need it!

hang it from the corners, like hanging a picture or mirror.

If you are in a vandals area, use chain from the DIY shed, not string, and put screws or hooks on the inside face of your wall or fence, hanging over the top. At least a foot down from the top of the wall. And fix the chain or string to the side of the sign against the wall, where it does not show.

We went and bought a piece of stake sized wood (have no idea of what its called) for about £5.00, did the job Smile
