Builders quotes

How long would you expect to wait for a builders quote? 1 week? 2 weeks? We have been waiting nearly 2 weeks for 2 builders to quote on a simplish job. Thanks

2 weeks tops, we had 12 quotes and only 8 bothered to get back and some of those completely priced themselves out of the job
I would say if you have drawings then get as many as you can be bothered with

We had 5 quotes and at a guess I think it took about a month. I had to chase some of them up, bug did get all 5 quotes. Unbelievable variation in price though

I would say if you have to chase they are either a) not interested in the job or b) too unreliable
We found huge variations in price, some builders will purposely price themselves out of the job if it's either too much to take on or not enough profit in it for them

I don't agree - sorry . Preparing a quote can be a big piece of work for a builder and finding time to do it if they are busy on another job can be tricky. I think the builder we used took about a month and he was fab, just really busy.
