Choosing a bath and shower

We are currently planning to have a new bathroom, but I am totally clueless on what restrictions we may face with the current lay out.

Have, hopefully attached image of the bathroom.

The taps are at the window end with an electric shower at the other.

Would like to have a proper shower bath, but am unsure how easy or costly it would be to change the position of the current taps and waste.

Also if we were to keep a straight bath with the taps and waste still at the window end would I be able to have a mixer shower at the opposite end or am a restricted to electric if it is that far away from the taps.

Probably sounds like really basic questions but first time of doing up a bathroom and it is in desperate need of being redone.
