Has anyone used these guys?

Their price seems too good to be true!! I need LBC rustic bricks for my extension and they do an equivalent brick for much cheaper.

These are the ones I'm looking at www.brickexpress.com/rustic-brick-express-A0383A_LE.brick

I've googled but can't find any reviews (good or bad) about them.

Thanks.

what are the chances that an "equivalent" brick will be identical?

If you are having an extension to your house, it needs to match. Like sewing a new sleeve onto your coat. Not just be "similar." Perhaps you should buy a sample and leave it outside the house for a while.

Thanks PigletJohn.

Our house is a mismatch of bricks anyway so I'm not too worried about an exact match. We're terraced and have different bricks to our neighbours and the bricks at the front of the house are different from the bricks at the back etc.

I was more worried about the quality of the brick.

Probably alright, just a brick factor supplying from the major suppliers, only thing to bare in mind the bricks they have on there are quite cheap bricks anyway I.e wire cuts which are the cheapest type you can buy anyway. Bare in mind the prices quoted on there are double what you would pay if you needed to buy a largish amount so , normally now£260 a thousand instead of 400. If you are after some bog standard lbc bricks ring round merchants like jewsons, travis etc, some branches might have quite a few sat on the ground for a while as lbc bricks arnt that widely used anymore except on refurb and to match existing buildings

shabbycaddy · 28/02/2015 11:48

By the way as long as the bricks arnt seconds or offshades from ibstock or hansons from the website you will be fine on quality, be very careful with seconds as these might suffer from excessive efflorescence or other faults
