Baxi boilers?

Looking to get a combi boiler installed and the plumber is suggesting a Baxi.

Anyone with any experience?

I tried asking this when getting my new combi boiler, most people have their own opinion on what is good or not, we have two Baxi boilers fitted, one in our house and one in our rental, both have been yearly serviced/gas checked and are now 5 years old with not a glitch between them, kind of get the impression that they are not the high end and just under, but yes very happy with them and a fair price.

Last house had a baxi, 10 yrs old when we moved out. Never broke down, apart from fan getting noisy and needed replacing.

We had one installed at our old house. It was great. Never had any problems with it .

Just had one installed at recommendation of our builder, didn't do much research just trusted him. so far so good. nice and toasty now.

Not one of the best brands, but very popular. In my own house I have a Viessmann but it would cost more. Ask about the extended warranty.

Thanks all. Piglet john can I ask why you went with viessman?

Tempted to go with Worcester Bosch instead of baxi as they seem to come out best on reliability (which reports).

We've just had a baxi fitted after our 35 year old ideal (Worcester?) boiler finally went kaput.

We're really pleased with it so far. We only bought the baxi as it was cheaper than the rest and this house is going on the market soon but so far, so good.. Does what it says on the tin and the bills have gone down... What more do you need? :)

It has a good reputation. If installed by an approved installer it has a long guarantee. It has a stainless steel heat exchanger, which I particularly wanted because my old boiler had suffered corrosion.

I went for a Vitodens 100 Compact. It is small and quiet, and, not being a combi, has very few working parts, so not much to go wrong.

We have had a Baxi Platinum installed. Comes with a 10 year guarantee with free parts and labour as long as it's serviced annually.So far so good!

What are heat exchangers usually made from?. Just curious.

old ones used to be made of cast iron. Some cheap ones are made of aluminium, which I very much dislike..
