Nest thermostats

Has anyone used a nest thermostat? How do they work with multiple heating zones in a house? Also silly question but can they also do hot water? Thank you!

We have one. Love it! Got the app on my phone and iPad too so can control it when out the house. We don't have it set up on zones so can't comment there and I don't think it does hot water. Get the smoke alarms too if you can. They all talk to each other. Have a look on the nest website.

down load the app and have a play.

I don't believe they can handle multiple zones. Honeywell are the obvious candidate for that. I'm holding off on a fancy thermostat but if nest offered zonal control then I'd get one. I have nest smoke alarms - like those except interconnection is via wireless and I'd like the option of both wireless and wired - and ideally both to provide some redundancy.

I believe to control multiple zones you'd need to make changes to your plumbing/pipes (based on what I've just read), something to do with valves? But I'm interested in this system too
