I need a structural engineer to give me some advice/plans/calculations for the removal of a chimney breast. I have asked around but no further forwards! I also need someone to take out the chimney breast so if you can suggest a good builder too even better!

I would recommend Arthur Griffith (agaconsulting.co.uk/, 020 8851 0961). He is very friendly and knowledgeable.

www.civilstructuraldesigns.co.uk/ - Would recommend Stacy, he was detailed and thorough. Had him round for a free quote and it cost £500 to design the plans to remove 1 chimney breast, replace beams in two walls and remove a wall between kitchen and dining room. He came on Friday and plans were with us by Sunday eve!
