Trying to choose between the two. Hypnos seems cheaper. Is Vi-Spring really better?

I don't know about Hypnos but our Vi-Spring in heavenly. We have a SK with one side firm and one medium.
I really miss it when I'm away.

Not tried Hypnos but would agree that Vi Spring are fantastic. We've had Vi spring beds all our married life - 31 years and currently have a zip and link sper Kingsize. Downsides are having to get out of bed or having to sleep in less comfortable beds when away.
John Lewis had some very good offers on Vi Spring beds recently.

I can't get comfortable in a vi spring. Will have to get a tempur. I can't see much difference between vi spring or hypnos personally.

Also have zip & link super king vi spring. Bought it from John Lewis about 8 years ago. Vi spring do (or did then) some beds that are exclusive to JL & are slightly cheaper. I love my bed - I have a medium mattress & DH has a soft & we are both v happy.

Our guest bed is a zip and lock Hypnos and is very popular with our guests!

Thanks all. There seem to be a lot more Vi-spring enthusiasts than Hypnos...

We have a ten year old Hypnos mattress. It is sheer heaven, especially with a feather mattress topper on top. Thoroughly recommend it. We had the same dilemma, and went for the cheaper option.

Vi spring. If you are in doubt look at the materials. Looks at the construction of the springs. It's not the actual number that counts it's the construction methods and materials. Look at what the stuffing is made of ie natural or synthetic. The advice we were given was that the entry level vi spring are still far superior to mid to top range hypnos.

I don't know Vi Spring but have to add that you can't go wrong with Hypnos. We have one and it's like sleeping on a cloud....

Thanks Mumsnet! Bought our bed - Vi-Spring from John Lewis. Will let you know how it is once delivered.

Have you heard of Button & Sprung? We have recently invested in one of their mattresses and I have never slept on something so comfortable! They are a new bed and mattress company and use new spring technology and 100% natural fillings that are all grown on their own farm in Yorkshire. Our mattress was also very good value compared to a similar spec one from Vispring. Thoroughly recommend!
