We live in a large Victorian semi. We have an attached garage. The garage has a side entrance which you access via the back door. This created an small courtyard/walkway, of which 3 are our walls and the 4th is the neighbours (their kitchen wall which has a v small high level window in.
The previous owners of our house used to restore cars so rather than having to walk through the open air he put a roof over the walk way. It is corrugated plastic with wooden support beams.
Ideally we would like to make this into a real room with a proper roof with skylight. It would be ideal for a utility room.
Can we do this? Do we need planning or would we just need building regs?
