Do you know any companies that buy agas?

We are trying to replace our aga with a range cooker. We think that the aga must have some value attached to it and it needs to be removed by aga knowledgeable person as it is very heavy and needs to be dismantled in pieces. We have tried calling a few firms that say they buy and take away agas but we have only been offered £100 for some thing that cost nearly 50 times that. Has anyone used one of these companies that they can recommend? Thanks very easy much.

I don't know where you are in the country but Clive Combes in the Midlands do this. No idea what they pay (haven't had one removed) but they service ours and everyone else's in these parts and are well regarded (I don't work for them!).

You could try The London Cooker Company they sell reconditioned Agas
They are in Biggleswade Bedfordshire (not London) 01234 213 933.

They seem very nice it have been talking to them about buying an aga.

you may not get much for them to take away an old Aga - is it old? If it is not very old, and in good condition, you would get more by putting it up for sale on Ebay. Then you or the buyer would have to find someone to dismantle and move it. Why don't you keep it? I LOVE my AGA and we moved it with us when we moved house as our buyer did not want it.
We used Andy Willoughby Tel: 07976-938998. He is based in Herefordshire but came to Buckinghamshire to dismantle, move, and reinstall when we were ready. You could ask his advice. My advice is KEEP THE AGA! They are wonderful.

My normally very eco-self hates me, but I LOVE MY AGA....

sorry but I hate it - I find it really impractical and very expensive to run. I have dreamt of getting a range cooker for 5 years now and I just need this one taken away.
