Extending on top of an existing single-story extension

Hi everyone,

We are about to move to a new house which has a single-story extension in the back corner.

We are thinking of extending on top of it to create a double bedroom above. Assuming the foundations will allow it, does anyone have an idea how much this sort of thing might cost?

Watching with interest as I am considering the same. Sorry I can't be of any help!

Currently getting quotes on ours. Ours is roughly 3x3 and will replace one of the existing bedrooms upstairs which will be eventually turned into a bathroom as bathroom is downstairs at present. First quote back is £26,000 . Extenal finish is render with mock Tudor beams to match existing 1920s house, plus with pitched and hipped end roof. Work also includes finishing new bedroom with electrics, skirting, making good existing bathroom below after old ceiling removed, fitting new stud wall to create new hall in bedroom, plaster and new electrics in future bathroom, steel beam fitted to take a further future extension and external drainage works to take future bathroom soil stack
