Anyone just get bored of their house?

Just that really? Sometimes I think I only want to move because I am bored of my house. It has many plus points but equally I can easily list reasons to move!

Am i just weird....

Yes, me! I am currently house hunting, when I live in a perfectly good house. It has a couple of niggly issues to do with parking and I would like an extra bathroom, but we have happily lived here for 8 years without it causing too much problem. I want to stay in the same area for school catchment, so it is not even a question of moving to a new area, I just fancy a change of house.

My problem is that I live in one of the few older properties in my area, and consequently it is much bigger than the other mostly 90's and onwards newer builds. I will end up paying a lot more to get a similar sized house. But I still want to do it, and I think the main reason is I just want a change. We used to move every few years when I was younger, this is the longest I have lived in one house for!

My PiLs moved into a bungalow when they were in their late thirties so that they wouldn't have to move again in their old age Confused. They are still there over 30 years later, now to me that's weird!

We've moved 9 times in 12 years!
We love(d) moving!! However we have now found our dream house, have lived here for 14 months and are planning to never move again!!
Sometimes you've got to move just to find the one you're most happy in :)

I th ink you are mad wanting to move for no good reason - such a stressful thing to do! It is also very expensive. If you are bored then why don't you re-decorate, buy some new furniture, carpets, rugs etc? I don't think I will ever have money to spend on moving just because I am bored..............

I suppose it depends where you live or if you buy a house knowing you'll eventually move bilbo. If we'd never moved, we wouldn't be living anywhere near the house we live in now. But because we've moved, we've made a lot of money. You've just got to buy clever we have this time too, but I love this house and refuse to move even if the value has doubled in 14 months!!

I have a building project in my head of all the things I would do to our house if we ever have the time and money.

It may not ever happen, but it keeps me from getting bored as I can think to myself "ok when we turn that room into an en suite, what will it look like" and that gives me an excuse to daydream and browse on bathroom websites.

I highly recommend a phantom building project Grin

I wouldn't want to move - IME a new house just means a new set of niggles that need fixing!

No, why would you ever move if you didn't absolutely have to??

I'm moving into what I hope will be my very long term home next. I'm spending loads of time getting it just right, just so I don't have to move again. I find moving v v stressful.

I love my house, here over a decade. I take on a little project every month or two.

Have to move due to space now I've do but I could live here for the rest of my days if I need to.

dc not do, sorry
