Anyone got a Quooker fusion?

I'm thinking of splashing out on one of these and wanted to hear if anyone has one and if so, are you happy with it? I'm a bit worried about spending all that money and then it goes wrong. Some online reviews of quookers are not very complimentary. And if it goes wrong, and you have the fusion, then potentially you are left with no hot water at all, because as I understand it, the fusion replaces your kitchen tap. I am in a moderately hard water area, so I will get the limescale filter kit. But would be interested to hear about anyone's experience of this. Does limescale still cause a problem even with the filter?
Thanks

Watching with interest majestic. I'm just starting to pan a new kitchen and I'm adamant I want a boiling tap but one kitchen place I went in to today advised me to look at 'zip' which they feel is a superior (more expensive I think) product. I have the glossy brochure here.

Pradaqueen · 03/02/2015 20:45

I have one and wouldn't be without it. I asked other mumsnetters Grin I'm advised that quooker are the only true 100deg boiling tap. You can still get hot water independently if the boiling water had it for over a year and no problems. I did look at the cheaper insinkerator but you still need another set of taps and it looked less stylish and IMO cheaper (but then again it was more than 50% cheaper than the quooker) I got quooker to install but bought it from a notts base firm who were cheapest. Hope that helps!

I looked at it but got a separate Quooker tap as I didn't want DC anywhere near the boiling water tap for years.

I love it.

Secretsout · 03/02/2015 21:01

I thought it was the only boiling tap prada but this company today reckon not....maybe they are talking s*

MajesticWhine · 03/02/2015 21:36

Ok, that's interesting Secretsout, I will look at that as well.

I have a Quooker Nordic round twin taps. I love them. Definately go for it!

UnrelatedToElephants · 03/02/2015 22:04

we have zip taps at work and they definitely aren't boiling.

Johnogroats · 03/02/2015 22:11

I have a qooker and love it. Just boiling water. We have a cheapo "boiling" tap at work and its crap...tepid tea anyone?

MajesticWhine · 03/02/2015 22:36

DrElizabethPlimpton with the twin taps, is one for normal hot and cold, and one for boiling? I am retrofitting, not having a new kitchen, so I am thinking maybe the fusion would be neater, no new hole needed in the worktop.

We have the quooker which just provides boiling water and I love it! We have had it for four and a half years and never had a problem with it. I love my cups of tea and am fussy about the water and this definitely tastes good to me!

DrElizabethPlimpton · 03/02/2015 23:16

Yes. One is a regular tap and one is boiling. It works well for us as we fitted it when we remodelled the kitchen.

The bloke I saw yesterday was obviously talking out of his a* then. He reckoned the Zip was a far superior product but like unrelated says.....lukewarm tea, yuk

Madeup5 · 04/02/2015 22:51

Hi we have franke Minerva, is fine definitely boiling water, love it!

Mrsladybirdface · 04/02/2015 23:03

We have a Franke Minevra too...love it! No chance of child related injury from it.

ClaudiaNaughton · 01/09/2017 19:24

Franke Minerva was recommended by our plumber (they can't fit Quooker into granite) but Amazon has terrible reviews on Franke and poor after sales.

DOLLYDAYDREAMER · 01/09/2017 20:50

Hubby installs lots of Quooker taps. And some others when customer wants to cut down on price. Says Quooker are best. No problem fitting into granite. We have Quooker fusion. Neat and easy to use. Didnt like the way you turn the Franke one on, felt awkward

ClaudiaNaughton · 01/09/2017 22:15

Thank you again DOLLY . I'll go for the fusion.

Getabloominmoveon · 01/09/2017 22:22

We've got a Fusion and it's great. Never going back

bear28 · 01/09/2017 22:22

We have one tap in our house which has hot cold and quooker. It's absolutely fantastic!!! Highly recommend.
