Central heating not coming on
Last week tried to remove radiator for decorating unsuccessfully with friend. It is a single panel radiator with small diameter pipe. We noticed tiny leak from valve (not a trv) which we thought was insignificant. Now very small puddle of water on floor where this pipe is and boiler not coming in with pressure gauge at 0.5 so less than one.

Any ideas I don't know too much about boilers please help!

You need to fill the boiler back up. And yes, it coukd be down to the leak.

Under the boiler will be a tap. Turn it slowly and fill boiler up. Watch the pressure guage go up. Let it fill until (i think its 1 but you had better double check. Usually says on guage)

Tape up leak or use some water resistant putty and add some water to system. My old boiler wouldn't trigger if the pressure was too low. There should be an instruction booklet telling you how.

Ok I did see a plumber do this with a looped pipe and tap under the boiler last year..... Will give this a try thanks for you swift replies!

Yes, get the pressure up - my combo boiler has a button to turn, it's underneath. Google the model if you can't find the tap/button/screw.
Good luck!!

If there is a looped pipe it is the filling loop- open the tap and fill the boiler up to 1-1.5. Should then work- though if the leak isn't corrected pressure will drop and you will have to keep refilling. It's not good for the boiler so do fix the leak on the rad too.
